1.
Each driver is required to fill out an entry form and
provide their own combine, prepared in accordance with the
rules and safety requirements of the event.
2.
Derby officials may accept or reject any and all entries.
3.
All combines must be inspected and approved by derby
officials.
4.
No radio helmet or on-radio communications with the driver
during the contest.
5.
Female drivers may not participate if pregnant.
6.
Alcohol or drug use is prohibited before, during and after
the event and is grounds for immediate rejections.
7.
No offensive language or pictures will be permitted.
8.
The decision of the judge and derby officials will be
final
COMBINE
UNIT
1.
Disconnect all drive belts to the threshing unit, grain
table and remove straw chopper.
2.
Fuel tank must be mounted inside the grain tank.
3.
All combines must have a cab with seat belts installed.
4.
All window glass must be removed from the unit, including
all head and tail lights.
5.
Remove ladder to cab.
6.
Remove unloading auger from the grain tank.
7.
No reinforcement plates or shields can be added to protect
the transmission drive belts, wheels and tires.
8.
Must have bar welded to the front left side of the cab to
protect the driver.
9.
Install a welded bar across the front of the cab about two
(2) feet from the floor of the cab.
10.
NO ADDITIONAL weight is to be added to the combine.
11.
Tires are to be "Stock" and nothing but air is
to be used to inflate them.
12.
No rear wheel assist combines.
HEADER
UNIT
1.
Grain table must be used in derby, if torn off, the unit
will be disqualified (weld it to the combine).
2.
Remove reel, sickle bar, guards and floating cutter bar.
3.
Head must be fastened solid to the combine.
4.
Head must be no lower than 15" or higher than
21" from the bottom of the head to the ground.
5.
Hydraulic hose to cylinder head must be removed.
There can be NO lift action on header from the cab, and
must be welded rigid so it cannot move up or down.
SAFETY
RULES
1.
Safety belts and helmets like those worn by participants
in the car demo derby must be worn.
2.
You cannot raise any combine more than 10" off the
ground.
3.
Drivers must operate in a responsible and safe manner at
ALL TIMES.
4.
NO direct hits to the driver area.
5.
NO hitting in the rear end of the combine.
6.
NO hitting opponent when they are out of bounds or out of
the contest.
